Built rugged and hanDles with ease. Great cab
Purchased 5100M in Jan 2020 because of potential higher resale value than MF. JD cab was very comfortable and convenient. The 16F/16R transmission is very adequate for getting the proper ground speed. I like that JD has a 4 cylinder engine, not 3 cylinder with a bigger turbo.

Super smooth, great lifting capacity, and can do anything its asked to do.
I bought my 5100M in the fall of 2019 and I can't say I've found any large issues so far. The amount of versatility that comes with this machine is amazing. I mainly use it for moving logs around my farm, and with the grapple, I purchased with the machine, and I can lift almost anything. I've got to say John Deere did a great job with this tractor.

Great machine, built like a tank
We needed a nice utility class machine for our ranch. I compared blue, red, orange, and green brands. I think the Deere won out on many factors over the others, but IMHO, the cab layout and comfort was well above the other contenders. I also like the weight of the machine, as well as the bulletproof 4.5L engine. While nothing we buy is ever perfect, I think John Deere continues to lead in the 85hp and up tractors.
